Achieving Academic Excellence
The Association of Proprietary Colleges (APC) represents New York’s degree-granting proprietary colleges – one of the state’s four sectors of higher education. Like all state colleges, New York’s degree-granting proprietary colleges are governed by the state’s Board of Regents. APC member colleges maintain above-average student outcomes, serving more than 35,000 students. Offering associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in numerous traditional and emerging fields, program completion rates across APC member colleges are strong. Member Action Alert: New York’s final budget disadvantaged more than 40,000 students attending APC member colleges by not allowing them to apply for the new Enhanced Tuition Award (ETA). Join us in support of legislation (S5891, sponsored by Senator Klein and A7697 sponsored by Assemblymember Pichardo) that would amend the definition private degree granting institutions. This would expand the ETA to include the more than 40,000 students who choose to attend private APC colleges.
