Bryant & Stratton President adds voice to New York’s higher education leadership.
New York’s Association of Propriety Colleges (APC) today announced the appointment of Cindy H. Susienka to its board of trustees. APC is the only state organization that exclusively represents degree-granting proprietary colleges, spanning 41 campuses across the state and serving more than 60,000 students.
Susienka became president and CEO of Bryant & Stratton College in August, following the retirement of John J. Staschak. Susienka brings more than three decades of senior- and executive-level leadership experience to Bryant & Stratton and will lead strategic decisions and advance the mission and vision of the college.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome the extraordinary leadership and vast expertise Cindy brings to the board,” said Donna Stelling-Gurnett, executive director of APC Colleges. “We look forward to working alongside our new colleague and will look to her for guidance as we continue to educate diverse student bodies, affording them the knowledge and competencies needed to meet employer’s needs.”
Immediately prior to joining Bryant & Stratton College, Susienka held a variety of top leadership roles at Golden Living, including President of Aegis and AseraCare, President and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Innovations and most recently as Chief Operating Officer of the larger parent organization, Golden Living.
“Cindy’s firsthand knowledge of what an employer needs to thrive in today’s economy will ultimately help further APC’s mission to ensure that our graduates have the education and experience necessary to make immediate and meaningful contributions in the workplace,” said Stelling-Gurnett. “While Cindy is our newest member, she is leading one of the oldest, most well-established educational institutions in New York State, Bryant and Stratton College, which was founded in 1854.”
